Dreams they say is a mental picture of anticipated occurrences created by our minds,by patching together figments of visions, goals, experiences, nightmares, attitudes, wishes and a generalized notion of our life cycle.

To some(especially, the westerners),dreams are delusional or a fictional episodes of our life imposed on us as we sleep. And based on that theory they believe dreams is not worth taken seriously. But an African man thinks otherwise,To them dreams are spiritual insights to the future,a hint
of whats to come. And based on that phenomenon,Another meaning to dreams arose.

Dreams is a mental imprint or image,an individual embed within their mind, long enough that it takes dominance of their soul and being, which serve as a guide or provides an all new pathway to livelihood.

Remember the saying,"as far as your eye can see, that you can become" .it imply's that once you can get hold of that dream, then the dream gets hold of you.

I remember quite vividly, when i was a child i dreamt of becoming a medical doctor, loves the white robes and stereoscope hanging on their neck, you know having to save lives and taking credits for it,hence making so much money from my profession and leaving in absolute luxury.but sadly over time, after life has taken its toll, hitting me real hard with self realization through struggles, hardship, disappointments, betrayals etc,the dream slowly faded away.

Not so many of us in life have the luxury of becoming that person we admired to be when we where yet children. So many as kids dreamt to be LAWYERS,ENGINEERS,DOCTORS,BANKERS,PILOTS etc but very few people achieve these dreams in their lifetime.

This article is tailored to guiding your on a few ways to remain in lines with your dreams,be it childhood dreams or dreams you hoped to achieve as an adult.

Below i will outline a few milestones to step on that will keep you in alignment with your dreams.

1. FRIENDSHIP: This has to be No 1 on my list because it plays a vital role to whom you become, your personality is shaped in line with the kind of people you always have around you as friends. So many youths don't take this very seriously.some even think they can cheat or maneover their way through.Once i heard a classmate of mine say he is different from his friends,he like hanging out with bad friends but their life style will never influence him in anyway. He entered the University and ended up becoming a cultist. This guy is very smart and intelligent,in fact back then i learnt a couple of things from him but what happened.

He had kept it secret from me for a very long time,i was shocked to know about it from a third party but never asked him about it.waited a long while for him to come clean until one incident happened which almost took his life, lucky enough he did not end up in jail. After the heat of the incident had died out,he now confessed to me that he had joined the cult due to pressure from a couple of friends and admitted that nothing good was in it after all, saying he would never advice anyone to join such.Well i advised him like i always do though i know he is already deep into it and coming out wont be as easy as it was when he entered the fraternity.

Mingling with people who have same or similar vision or goals in life keeps you rooted towards achieving your dreams.once you stick with the wrong pack, over time you will end up loosing a footing towards your dream and subsequently falling off track.its inevitable, its a universal constant,no matter how careful you are about it.Choose your friends and don't let your friends choose you.seek out those that share same dreams and aspirations with you.

2.Stay Focused : literally Theirs more to focus than just to look at a figure for a period of time,it has to do with observation, awareness and undivided attention on that particular object.Set Goals that Motivate You,One goal at a time, don't bulk your mind with so many dreams at the same time or else you wont have enough time to achieve any.Putting your dreams in writing too has a powerful impact in keeping you focused.Focusing has to do with obsession for that particular dream,THINK IT,SING IT,TALK IT,LOVE IT,DO IT.

3.Think then act : never rush to decision making, this deals with when you are choosing a career,institution,mentor-ship etc. With your dreams firmly held mentally always try to do a little more research when choosing a career or high institution to pursue your dreams.

I remember a friend of mine who has passion for computers  and programmings,he graduated from Federal University Of Technology Owerri (FUTO),And studied Computer science(CSC).He told me personally that he made the wrong choice in choosing what to study at the university, according to him,he choose computer science hoping the widen his knowledge in programming and computer codes  (html, java, php, css etc) but little did he know that in the course of study he choose,he did more of mathematics and calculation than the actual computing language.Told me,if he had done his home work well,he would have figured he should have done Information and technology (IMT),saying a friend of his who also graduated from same school in IMT was better at programming than he is due to they where thought more on the subject than their computer science counterpart.Well i remember some
time ago in the said school,CSC is not a dependent course of study in the school,it used to be Computer Science and Mathematics, just very recently CSC and Math where seperated into two different departments. Now you can see the result of not doing proper research before choosing a career.
Ask Questions,Mostly to people who have walked the same path you are about embarking into, you will definitely learn one or two from their experiences and mistakes.Make an action plan and stick with it.

4. Leave your place of convenience : Hard work always pays off.Do the little extra stuff that distinguish you from your contemporaries. You don't only have to study when its all convenient ,That little stress, hard work or discomfort will definitely pay off.More time spent with your books, burning those candles while others lay asleep, extra effort put into your workplace, waking up way earlier just to meet up with early morning classes etc.No one did all these thing and became a failure,Even God himself will see you through after you put in little effort towards achieving your dreams.

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has made it known to the general public that the council has come to conclusive decision to release examination results 60days after the last examination prior to the last 90 days earlier been released.

The Examination body HNO,Mr. Olu Adenipekun, told the News Agency of Nigeria that the waiting days will now be 60 days as against 90 days previously.

Mr. Adenipekun spoke with NAN on the side-line of the council’s 65th anniversary celebration which began on Thursday in Lagos State.

According to him, the development is one of such steps being taken and implemented by the council to meet its mandate of delivering quality service to all stakeholders on educational sector.

“All hands must be on deck to ensure that the innovation, tagged: `Project 60’, is effective from this year.
“For sometimes now, we normally use about 90 days, from the day of the last paper of the examination to release the result.
“For the past 15 months, when I assumed office as the HNO in Nigeria, we have been working to reduce that `waiting period’ by 50 per cent.
“This is what initially brought about what we had also called `Project 45’ but we want to take it gradually,”      Mr. Adenipekun said.

He told NAN that for the 2017 May/June WASSCE,discloses that the intention of the board was to release the result within 60 to 65 days with regards to the WAEC examination which is about to commence.

“So, this is how we came about ‘Project 60’; and in the coming years, the council will talk about `Project 45’,” he said.

He added that council was hoping that in the next two years, it would be able to release results of its examinations within 45 days after the last paper is taken.
On whether the development was tied to the JAMB’s insistence that candidates should make their WASSCE results available as prerequisite for admissions, the HNO said that it was not meant to address any issue regarding admissions into the University.

Mr. Adenipekun noted that one of the major objectives for introducing project 60 was to reposition the council and portray it as an organisation that was delivering its mandate.

According to him, WAEC should also be percieved as being always ready to review its operations and timely delivery. He stated :
“This may also come as good news for our current SSS 3 students, who are about to write the 2017 WASSCE.
“Basically there is need for our SSS 3 students to be happy because they are our principal stakeholders.
“I am sure reducing the waiting period will even make them happier,”

Press Release!!!

STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS
(Inbox PROSUG @ 08136868489- Listen to voice copy via Whatsapp).

My fellow Nigerian Students', I bring you fundamental greetings in one Aluta spirit.
Its been seveenteen days since the day our great institution witnessed one of her dreaded moments in history. The shock from  that awful incident, still holds a good number of our students in bewilderness, especially our freshmen. But, we shouldn't dwell in the past anymore, we must  rise up on our feet, and move forward.
Hence, in  the light of foregoing post crisis, I,  Comr. Akano Nnaemeka, President SUG FUTO, enjoin  everyone on both sides of the divide to take equal blames. It is so unfortunate that, the supposed peaceful demonstration was hijacked by hoodlums to impose severe damage on both school and union properties.  More painfully, the ugly incident, had left behind, a depository of huge dent upon the good image of our noble institution. Nevertheless,  we still remain the foremost Federal University of Technology in Nigeria, and best.
I, most sincerely want you to know that, I have NEVER relented in my efforts to protect our collective interest and  lead us forward. Even though, I and my entire Executive council, SRC and Judiciary, may have had huge shortcomings in rendering our selfless services to you all.  Be rest assured, that, we solidly stand with you in all situations and always shall be.
Indeed, myself and entire SUG officials, have been working tirelessly to  bring us the best. Prior to the unfortunate incident, we have been in consistent dialogue with management about these issues and we were close to conclusions . Inspite of that, we are still in dialogue,  to make sure that, any genuine reasons behind the supposed peaceful demonstration is addressed .
The acclaimed champions of the protest refused to seek for clarifications  before embarking upon such detrimental action.  Against every advice, and blinded by political benefits, went about to  spread rumours and incite innocent minds . Today, that woeful mislead , have landed us all in this pitiful state of academic stagnance and unexpected financial burden.  Never again shall we allow that to happen or condone such impunity. Nonetheless, I have nominated a student representative to the membership  of  the Damage Assessment Committee; to ensure transparency and make sure we are not over billed.
Apparently, during the SUG's visit to Hot 99.5 FM  Radio station, for the program, People's Assembly. Many had expected us to talk badly about our institution or tell the world about our imperfection. Indeed, that, would've been  very unnaceptable of us as student leaders, to  paint a bad image of our dear school. We don't hang our dirty laundry in public. Instead, we strive together as one big happy family, both staff and students', to make things right.
You have bestowed upon Aluta Excellence Executive, the mandate to serve and with God's grace , we will not let you down.  Against all odds, we remain focused and determined in our vision and mission, to  add more value to the system and leave the Union, better of than we met it.
In managing the post crisis situation, we have outlined the following modalities to tackle the numerous problems we face on Campus and ensure that, the unfortunate incident of  Friday, 17th Feb. 2017 does not repeat itself in the future. As a family of enlightened undergraduates, we dearly need your truest  understanding in this trial moment of our administration, unwavering support and cooperation, in order to realise these goals.
1). Our major desire is to ensure that, we return back to Campus in earnest, to complete our academic calendar.  We are making every necessary effort to make it possible. Importantly, the SUG will ensure that, we are given ample time to prepare for Test and Examination, upon resumption.
2). Once again, we apologise for notable communication gap and, will do all it takes to get better and bridge all gaps;
We shall embark on weekly visits or more often, as urgency demands, to Hostels and off-campus areas; Eziobodo, Umuchima, Ihiagwa, Obinze , to interact with Nigerian students and make announcements.
- Regular sms to Faculty Presidents/Pro, Dept. Pres./pro,SRC's, Hall Govs,Offcampus Ambassadors, Lodge Pres., Course Reps.,etc. As well as paste notices on all notice boards on Campus.
N/B Henceforth, Do not act upon any news or pay any non-receipted fee(s) if, you are in doubt. Demand for receipt and endeavor to get clarification from SUG officials. Hence; "NO MORE PAYMENT FOR COURSE REGISTRATION"  " THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL N10,000 FOR LATE PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES" "NO COMPULSORY PURCHASE OF  ENGINE DRAWING BOARD & ACCESSORIES FROM SCHOOL" " NO MORE COMPULSORY PURCHASE OF TEXT BOOKS" " NO MORE PAYMENT FOR CHANGE OF TELLER TO RECEIPT" " DO NOT PAY MORE THAN N2,000 FOR DEPT. DUES"  " FACULTY AND ASSOCIATION DUES ARE ALL EMBEDDED IN DEPT. DUES  OF N2, 000 ONLY" "NO MORE COMPULSORY PURCHASE OF LAB & WORKSHOP COATS FROM SCHOOL. YOU CAN BUY FROM ELSEWHERE OR SEW YOURS. BUT, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE  A LAB & WORKSHOP COAT BEFORE YOU ATTEND THOSE CLASSES"  "FOR FINAL YEAR STUDENTS' DURING CLEARANCE - NO MORE PAYMENT OF N500, LESS THAN OR MORE, AT EVERY DESK"
Report immediately to SERVICOM or SUG Officials, if you're threatened or not served right.
3) We understand, that, the days are evil and times are hard. Therefore, we shall organize monthly prayer days on Campus, to recommit our school and Students' into God's care. Last  Fridays of every month. Time & Venue will be communicated.
4) We will ensure to carry everyone along in this govt. So as to make a better union. Violence is NEVER the best means to solve problems. If you discover anything going wrong anywhere, please, do not keep quiet. Realize that, YOU are a stakeholder in this university, no matter how small or big in size. Report to school authority or SUG officials. For those who prefer to  remain annonimous, we understand. We shall provide Suggestion Boxes at SUG Secretariat. The SUG PRO will make sure to check it every two days and dutifully convey the message to the appropriate quarters. You need not write your name, just put down your complaint and location. If its a matter of urgency, our phone numbers are available on the notice board. We'll make sure your voice is heard and problem solved. Lets join hands to build a better FUTO and Union.
5) Lets  not forget that, most of these problems we face on Campus, have been there, since several previous administrations. Nevertheless, we are doing everything within our powers to clear the backlog and bring lasting solution. We reassure you that, all our grievances will be thoroughly addressed before resumption.
6) We are still in constant dialogue with management, to ensure that, other problems of growing concern is addressed. Such as; Provision of more Banks and ATM's, Reduction in cost of Textbooks, Manuals,  Lab& Workshop coats and other fees, Reduction in price(s) of goods and services around the school premises, Relocation of Students' from LH2, SEET WORKSHOP 3, 750 CAP., CCE Building etc... To conducive lecture venues.

- Quick release of semester results. N/B Report to SUG Officials, any Class Adviser who delays.

- Zero tolerance of extortion, Sexual harassment, intimidation, Bullying, victimisation etc..., by Lecturer(s), Staff or Fellow students. Report to Student Affairs Unit or SUG officials.

- Regular sanitation around the school environment and school Hostels. Report to SUG Officials if, the contractor responsible for sanitation  at your Hall of residence is not doing a good job.

- Improvement in Security and regular patrol of security personnels. Especially, at night time. Please, quickly call the attention of school Security, ManO'War, or SUG Officials, if you notice any unusual person(s), activity around Campus.

- Provision of Campus shuttle and taxis, in place of motorcycle,  at affordable rates. Exceptional Routes such as SMAT Complex will be covered.

- Installation/repair of street lights around the schoo
l environment for visible ambience at Night.

- Provision of more water reservoirs at school Hostels. Regular generator / EEDC power supply at usual times. ETC..

We shall keep you updated as our dialogue yields more results.
Dear friends, colleagues, class mates, roomies;  our hearts bleed, because, in our imperfection, we may have failed you all. But, we have realised our mistakes. Therefore, we solemnly ask for your understanding and renewed confidence in our government. For the few who do not believe in  Aluta Excellence, soon,  we shall give you more reasons to change your mindset and give us support. I am poised now, more than ever,  to put on the whole armour of Aluta and lead us forward. Thank  you my beloved brothers and sisters in the struggle and God bless.
Aluta Continua... Victoria Ascerta !!!

LONG LIVE FUTOITES!!!
LONG LIVE ALUTA EXCELLENCE!!!
LONG LIVE FUTO SUG!!!
LONG LIVE MOTHER NIGERIA!!!

SIGNED:
HIS EXCELLENCY,
COMR. AKANO NNAEMEKA P, GCSS
PRESIDENT, STUDENTS' UNION GOVERNMENT,

A 200 level student of Lead City University, Ibadan, Moshood Owolabi, who stabbed a fellow student to death has been sentenced to death by hanging.

Justice Adegboye Gbolagunte of an Ibadan High Court condemned,In his ruling on Wednesday, Owolabi to death by hanging for causing the death of one Seun Kolawole, two years ago.

A Physical and Health Education Department student, Owolabi caused the death of Kolawole by stabbing him with a bottle that led to his death.

According to the judge, the counsel prosecuting the case, A. Olawale, a Deputy Director in the Oyo State Ministry of Justice had proved the case beyond reasonable doubt.

He stated that the evidence tendered before him showed that the accused committed the offence as charged so is found guilty.

He sentenced him to death by hanging to serve as deterrent and lesson to others who take pride in taking human lives.

The judge further advised guardians and parents to always watch their children to prevent them from misbehaving and causing harm to others around them or the society at large.

The prosecutor had earlier told the court that the convict stabbed Kolawole with a broken bottle in the neck, following a misunderstanding between him and the deceased.

He explained that the injury sustained as a result of his action resulted to the death of the victim Kolawole.

Olawale said that the incident happened on Jan. 12, 2014 at toll-gate area of Ibadan.

Its quite unfortunate that this young scholar has laid waste to his life,in such a horrible manner, one which could have been averted had he applied little caution and discipline to the events that led to the unfortunate occurance.
Students are hereby advised to focus on their studies and quite cultism and other vises that can cut their lives short or prevent them from achieving their academic goals.
