The Tony Elumelu Foundation which was Founded in 2010 by Tony O. Elumelu CON,the Foundation is originally an African philanthropic organisation. The Tony Elumelu Foundation has the orientation that the private sector plays a vital role to unlocking Africa’s economic potential. with that in mind, its mission is to fast track economic and social development in Africa via entrepreneurship tailored on three major areas as follows :
- The empowerment of entrepreneurs through capacity development, seed capital mentoring and networking
- The promotion of thought leadership on entrepreneurship through advocacy and evidence-based research as a guide for policymakers across African governments
- The creation of an integrated entrepreneurial ecosystem that promotes African entrepreneurship.
The Foundation’s main philosophy is based on the Founder’s legacy to empower a generation of successful for-profit entrepreneurs who drive Africa’s economic and social transformation.Through its programme and activities, the Tony Elumelu Foundation seeks to create an atmosphere where entrepreneurship can flourish in a sustainable and reliable manner.
The Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme – TEEP
The Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme – TEEP Has offered about 10,000 aspiring African Entrepreneurs an opportunity to benefit from $100 million grant to create about 1,000,000 jobs across Africa and contribute $10 billion in annual revenues to Africa’s economy over the next 10 years.
The 2017 list of Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Foundation have been officially released, From the official Website of the foundation which clearly states the list of successful candidates, The TEEP is a Tony lumelu Iniatiative of funding over 1000 Entrepreneurs across Africa, with the Vision of unlocking Africa’s economic potential.
