The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) said candidates that registered for the 2017 computer based Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examinations (UTME) would take mock tests tomorrow being 8th April.

Prof Is-haq Oloyede,JAMB Registrar,Who made the announcement at a meeting held in Abuja with ‘internal stakeholders’ yesterday.

He stated that the mock exams which would take place tomorrow nationwide were aimed at preparing candidates for the real UTME examination. Only candidates that paid for the mock test will be eligible to sit tomorrow.

Prof Is-haq Oloyede said the challenges being encountered by candidates in the beginning of the UTME registration exercise has been resolved.

He said about one million UTME candidates have so far registered as at yesterday.

NOTE :
Participation in the said mock examination is not compulsory but recommended by Jamb,as candidates can choose not to participate in the mock exams. But Interested candidates are to indicate their interest in the mock examination during the registration process.

There is a line on the JAMB Mock Exam Printout that states that if you miss the JAMB Mock Exam on 8th April, then you would forfeit the actual UTME exams in May.

This notice is mainly for those, who indicated they wanted to participate in the Mock Exam earlier during Registration.

In as much as we would not want to believe that JAMB is serious about effecting that harsh penalty, we would want to encourage everyone, who indicated interest to write the JAMB Mock Exam, to make sure they are present at the venue and time for the Mock Exam, as indicated on the print out of the slip.
This is clear sign that JAMB is obviously taking the UTME Mock Exam seriously, and they expect that if you indicated an interest to participate in the exam, then you should be serious about it and endeavor to participate in the exam.

JAMB may have set certain criteria, on maybe their handling capacity to conduct the 2017 UTME, and you may jeopardize the set threshold by not attending.
Please all candidates who have shown interest in the MOCK exam during their registration, should take this warning seriously.
